Whether you’re an Android lover or not, it’s difficult to disagree with the fact that some of the smartphones that are out there really are ‘top notch’! Times have certainly moved on, what used to be a luxury is now an expectation when buying any handset. Samsung, Google, Huawei, LG or Sony are continuously coming up with new ways to keep up with our expectations and most of the time all of these big organisations exceed them.

We’ve therefore decided to look at what we believe are the top five android smartphones that you can buy at this moment in time. So let’s get to it…

  1. Samsung Galaxy Note 8

It’s to no surprise that the Note 8 had a lot to prove after the battery fiasco the Note 7 had. Samsung really had a point to prove and oh boy, they did just that! Although it’s not cheap, we all know that some of the finest things in life don’t come cheap, so you definitely get what you pay for! From performance, taking photos or having a great and clear screen to play around with, the Samsung Note 8 really does provide a fantastic user experience and that is why it’s our number one!

  1. Samsung Galaxy S8

Yes, that’s right, the S8 is a fantastic phone and you could probably argue that it should or could be the front runner, but it just missed out, this time round! It was always going to be hard to make the S7, which was a great phone, even better, but Samsung did something that many of us thought was impossible. It almost ticks (if not all) boxes, again it offers an unforgettable user experience but yet offers so much more. The fact that it’s nearly half the price of the iPhone X is a huge plus point, so there you go folks, here is our number two!

  1. OnePlus 5T

Though not many of us know much of the OnePlus, for us it’s hard to see how you can not fall in love with this smartphone. Though there isn’t much difference between the OnePlus 5 and the 5T, it’s just a reminder that 2017 was the year every company produced a phone with an 18:9 display just so it wouldn’t look out of place amongst its competitors on the store shelf. The 5T is packed with many pleasant surprises, everything that didn’t work so well on the OnePlus 5 now works on the 5T, in fact it works even better. It feels like a ‘proper’ phone that allows you to do some much more than you’d expect! So there you have it, here’s our number three.

  1. Google Pixel 2

Ok, we admit, the Pixel 2 isn’t the best phone in terms of its looks. However, once you turn it on, there’s no other option but to admire and fall in love with this smartphone. It provides us with a fantastic glimpse of what our Android future looks like, though it’s not quite there yet, the Pixel 2 allows you to get excited about the future. One thing you definitely can’t ignore is the amazing camera, it’s probably one of the, if not the best, on the market at this moment in time. Yep, that’s right folks this is our number four!

  1. Sony Xperia XZ Premium

That’s right, you read it correctly, Sony Xperia! We know that there are probably better smartphones out there that could have made the top five, like the LG V30 or the Huawei Mate 10 Pro, but the one thing a Sony smartphone offers you is reliability. It’s almost the Nokia 3310 of old, it’s a phone that is keeping up with its competitors but yet isn’t losing its heritage! From design to infrastructure, the Xperia XZ Premium has a lot to offer and it is continuing to be loved by many and we’re part of that!

There you go ladies and gents, here are our current top five Android smartphones! We’re sure that by this point next year there will be another array of Android phones that will make our top five, but for now, this is it and we think that’s a pretty strong and exciting top five!
