Have you heard, iOS 12 is now ready and available for us to explore? But don’t get too excited just yet, as sadly it’s only a beta version of Apple’s latest software update. However, there’s a lot to look forward to, so we decided to take a closer look at what we can expect.
When is it going to be launched, fully?
Good question, there’s no definitive answer to that though. What we do know so far is that we’ve had two beta versions launched so far, one was introduced at the early part of June and the second towards the end of the UK’s heatwave in June. The full and ‘complete’ version is due to be launched in September, but we’ve heard rumours that it could be delayed until October.
Overall we can expect a new ‘look and feel’ design, but the the major updated we should all be looking forward to is the group FaceTime functionality! Apple have said that this particular update will most likely have to wait until iOS 12.1 is ready for download, which is hopefully won’t be to long after 12 is launched. This is probably the best time to mention that there won’t be many visual changes to the naked eye, however, all of the technical wizards at Apple are making sure that all the stuff that goes on in the background will make your overall user experience so much smoother and hassle free!
Is it actually going to be reliable?
Yes is the short answer, simply because Apple will do everything in their power to move on from the troublesome iOS 11. From what we’ve heard, reliability and performance has been the overall aim throughout the build process of iOS 12! In fact, for anyone that still has an iPhone 6 Plus, the new update is set to increase the power of your phone by around 40%, so launching any app will happen within a blink of an eye. It’s not stopping at just that though, launching your camera will be much faster, 70% faster actually and your keyboard will appear much faster too, 50% faster to be exact. This will also be more or less the same for any iPhone that was launched after the 6 plus. As you can see, Apple are doing everything in their power to ensure that you will never ever have to think of iOS 11 ever again.
What do we think?
This software update is just a glimpse of what we can expect from Apple and although this is only the beginning, Apple are probably doing everything they can to get a massive head start to their main rival, Samsung! If you own an iPhone X you will probably get the best evidence of what future Apple products are going to be run. The update is going to be compact, it’s going to make your busy life much easier, especially when it comes to waiting around for your apps to launch.
