As we all know, Nokia still to this day has a reputation of making solid, reliable, if there was a zombie apocalypse probably the only phone that would work mobile phones. This is a smartphone launch that you may have missed though, however, Nokia launched the Nokia 5 back in February of this year – so we thought it would be about time to take a closer look at a ‘budget’ smartphone, that actually looks and feels very much the opposite of ‘budget’!

Let’s take a look at the specs!

As you can see, the Nokia 5 comes with a 5.20-inch touchscreen display which has a resolution of 720 pixels by 1280 pixels. The smartphone is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor and it comes with 2GB of RAM. The phone packs 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Nokia 5 packs a 13-megapixel primary camera on the rear and an 8-megapixel for the front camera, perfect for all you selfie lovers out there.

Many will be extremely surprised with the ‘premium’ construction the Nokia 5 surprisingly has, especially for a phone with such a low-price tag. It feels like a more expensive phone when you pick it up, and let’s be honest, that’s something we all want.

Although it is almost expected from new smartphones, you also have a lot of storage space, which as shown above can be extended with a microSD card!

So what do we think?

Overall, we think it’s great and we also think that you would agree with us! Simply put, the Nokia 5 is a cheap smartphone that actually doesn’t feel cheap at all. You could argue that it hasn’t got anything that is mind blowingily new, and yes you would be right, however, we’d argue that, that is probably not want you actually need when you’re always on the road or you have an extremely busy office schedule! So we would just ask you this, when thinking of Nokia, what’s the first thought that springs to mind? Reliable, that’s correct, and if any phone provider can offer that, it’s definitely Nokia!
