Well, the screen is big, as you’d expect, infact it’s just covers more or less 83% of the actual device, allowing the user to view more without the need to dramatically having to invest into a new pair of spectacles or a magnifying glass. The curved screen increases the usability and the user experience. It makes it much easier to grip as well as allowing the user to access their most recent apps and contacts thorough the shortcuts placed on the side of the screens.
Bigger phone means bigger battery!
Having bigger screen allows the battery to be bigger allowing it to run for longer, however as the new model needed a space for the stylus, the battery is now 3300mAh but it last longer than Note 7 (if you giggled at this point, don’t worry so did we and we wrote this article). In order to ensure that the battery is more durable, the system had to be optimized.
The new stylus S pen has 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity which makes it respond better to the touch with the flexible and thinner tip. This allows the user to have more control over the input from taking the notes to drawing.
There is more!
The dual rear camera allows users to capture 4k video recordings with two 12-megapixel cameras, while the front camera allows you to capture those selfies at 1080p!
The new phone is now water resistant up to 1.5m for up to 30 minutes, so if you drop it in the bath it would be fine!
The smartphone also has an improved and faster wireless charging! This saves the user the hustle of always breaking the cables and also to quickly top up their phone by resting it on the charging port without searching for the cables.
It’s more secure! The note 8 allows choice of biometrics including the well-known fingerprint as well as the iris. The hardware is also more secure and it now comes with pre-installed secure folder for the more personal data.
So what do we think?
Well, let’s ignore the obvious, we all know that Samsung really have to pull it out of the bag with the Note 8! Although it may be hard, just try and look past the issues with the Note 7 and just look at what the Note 8 actually has to offer! If you do just that, you will be impressed, we’re pretty sure of that. From start to finish, Samsung really have invested a lot of thought, time and money into making the Note 8! Although, we don’t want to give too much away, the minute you see and test the Note 8 you will fall in love – that is a Fivebars guarantee!
