It’s here, Huawei have officially revealed their brand new flagship handsets at the Excel in London. With the P20 and the P20 Pro Huawei have definitely stepped up their game and will set a new benchmark for other smartphone manufacturers to chase.
Let’s take a closer look!
The biggest and newest feature Huawei revealed is that the P20 and P20 Pro both have the capability of wirelessly charging other smartphones, which let’s be honest is pretty useful! The Mate 20 features a 6.53 inch LCD screen with the Mate 20 Pro slightly smaller at 6.39 inches while both run on a Kirin 980 processor and Android 9.1 Pie.
Biggest M20 Pro feature?
The P20 Pro features a state of the art rear triple camera system which is almost unheard in the smartphone industry thus far. Comprising of an 8MP telephoto lens and 3x zoom, along with support for OIS and a 52mm focal length. The second camera is a primary 40MP RGB sensor and a focal length of 28mm. There also is a 20MP monochrome lens, which means all three sensors work in concert to deliver a Portrait Mode blur. The P20 Pro also offers 5x hybrid zoom feature, which means that the 8MP telephoto lens can offer 3x optical zoom, and the monochrome lens allows 2x hybrid zoom. Though some of these words may just sound like a load of jibberish to some of us, in essence, the camera will give us a user experience like never before from a smartphone.
How about the Mate 20?
The Mate 20 is powered by the flagship Kirin 980 processor, which is teamed with either 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage or 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, the storage can be expanded by up to 256GB using Huawei’s new Nano-Memory card format. There’s a 4,000mAh battery, and Huawei’s SuperCharge tech, introduced on last year’s Mate 10 series, is on board and can get you from 0% to 80% in 45 minutes. In short, the Mate 20 will be super fast and super easy to use and perfect for an on-the-go lifestyle.
What do we think?
Honestly, we believe that Huawei deserves all the credit that they can get, what they’ve done with these two phones is incredible. We have very high expectations when it comes to smartphones, we no longer get excited at the size of a screen, or at the quality of the camera. What used to be a luxury now has become an expectation and we’re more interested in data, which is absolutely understandable. However, with these two phones and all rest of the Mate 20 series that will be launched throughout the next couple of years, we will fall in love with our smartphones again and we will all get excited again at the thought of unwrapping a brand new handset. If you’d like to pre-order your new Mate 20 or Pro 20, give us a call and we’ll be on hand to answer any questions.
